Prior to the Chase, I wrote about the experience of driver-crew chief combinations in NASCAR’s playoff being a legitimate factor in performance. Based on the eight preceding Chases, the third Chase year of a driver and crew chief’s relationship often sees the biggest improvement, in terms of average finish, from the previous title attempt.
